On behalf of the entire Leadership Team of the Rocky Mountain Illini Club, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the club, a registered University of Illinois Alumni Association (UIAA) club. We are opening a new chapter in our club history, and it is our hope that you will join with us as we go forward!
The Rocky Mountain Illini Club was known, until earlier this year, as the Denver Illini Club. In renaming the club, it was our intent to widen the breadth and scope of our offerings, and to reach out to alumni in the Boulder and Ft Collins area, in the mountains, as well as the Colorado Springs/Pueblo area, while we continue to strengthen our core in the Denver metropolitan area.
It may interest you to know that there are over 4,000 University of Illinois alumni in our region! Prior to the inception of this web site, our main form of communication was by e-mail, to the 1,200 or so who have provided us or the UIAA with their e-mail address.
Participation in Rocky Mountain Illini Club events and activities is open to alumni, attendees and friends from any of the three campuses. We also offer the opportunity to become a member, and there are special benefits for our members.
Activities
Among the current or planned activities of the club to meet this mission are:
Game watches in Boulder (The Lazy Dog) and in Denver (Milwaukee Street Tavern) for all Illini football games and a selection of Illini basketball games
Social events, such as winery tours, brewery tours, networking events, and ski trips
Educational events, such as guest speakers via web, and tours of corporate facilities
Sporting events, such as group tickets for a Rockies game, a Nuggets game and an Avalanche game, and attendance at Illini sports teams appearances in Colorado
Cultural events, such as museum openings, plays and concerts
Fundraisers, such as special events to raise scholarship funds
Big Ten events, such as the annual Big Ten picnic, Big Ten Networking events and happy hours, and the annual Big Ten flag football competition, and joint game watches
In addition, the Rocky Mountain Illini Club will participate in at least one community volunteer event each year.
Your participation is key!
Your leadership team is working hard to provide activities and offerings that are important to you. We would love to hear your feedback, what we are doing well, where we need to improve, and activities you would like to see the Club provide.
And, the Club is always seeking volunteers who are interested in offering their expertise, time and energy to help set up events, be speakers, interview scholarship candidates, or to offer their services in their area of interest.
We hope that you will take advantage of the opportunities offered to enjoy fellowship with alumni, and to reconnect with the great institution we all love.
I hope to meet you at an event soon!
Hail to the Orange
Hail to the Blue
Hail Alma Mater!
